Pine Tree Math Science Team Take 2nd in Atlanta Tournament

Congratulations to the Pine Tree Math Science Team on their meet held Saturday, November 11th in Atlanta where Pine Tree placed 2nd overall.  Medals went to the top 5 places with Pine Tree earning twenty-four medals in four events.

Pine Tree Junior High Represents Well at Region 7 ESC Fall Robotics Competition

The Pine Tree Junior High Robotics Team competed against 70 teams at the Region 7 ESC Fall Robotics Competition on November 13 in Kilgore.

Pine Tree Junior High was represented with 9 teams.  The students were responsible for constructing and programming their robots to complete a series of tasks and operation. 

The team of Nikolas Roudkovski/James Phu earned 2nd place with the team of Tyler Blondrage/James Bethard earning 5th place.

PTHS Majorettes Bring Home Seven Medals in UIL Twirling Competition

On Saturday, November 11, Pine Tree hosted the UIL Twirling competition.  Pine Tree High School majorettes earned seven medals overall.

Ally Knight, Carly Garcia, and Kennedy Lewis earned a division 1 for their ensemble.
Alexa Brutchin, Carly Garcia, Lexi Oliver and Kennedy Lewis earned a division 1 in the solo competition.

Each of these students will compete at the UIL State Solo and Ensemble in May.

Pine Tree Fishing Team Finishes Strong in Lake Bob Sandlin Tournament

The Pine Tree Fishing Team finished strong in the Lake Bob Sandlin Tournament on October 21.

The team of Merrick Taylor/Connor Mayeux finished in 6th place with Kevin Jackson taking home 7th place.  Alan Garcia/Andy Ruiz came in at 42nd place with Jack Gense/Hudson Finley at 46th place.  Ethan Hearn/Dalton Roberts completed the competition in 71st place. 

The team of Merrick Taylor/Connor Mayeaux are in 1st place in year-to-date overall standings.

Pine Tree Art Students Top Winners in Kilgore College Veterans Day Art Contest

Pine Tree High School students took top honors at the Kilgore College Veterans Day Art Contest.  Haley Phillips won 1st Place for the high school division.  Norma Ortega won the esteemed Veterans Choice Award for her photograph of a vintage military plane at Rusk Airport.  Both students were awarded cash prizes of $75.00.

Pine Tree ISD Honors Veterans with Week Long Activities

Pine Tree ISD will host a Share the Schools Veterans Day Coffee and Tour Thursday, November 9 at 8:30 a.m. in the Pine Tree Community Center located at 1701 Pine Tree Road. 

The event will begin with a short program at 8:30 a.m. with the tour starting at 9:15 a.m.  All veterans are invited to attend. 

Pine Tree campuses will host the following programs and events:

Primary - Veterans Day Program - November 9, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. in the campus cafeteria

Birch Elementary - Community Wide Veterans Program - November 9, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Pine Tree Road Auditorium and school-wide Veterans Program on November 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the Birch Elementary cafeteria.

Parkway - Veterans Day poems will be featured in ELAR classes for all grades; 3rd and 4th grade students will create their own"poetry nuggets" on veterans; 1st and 2nd Grade students are learning what is means to be a veteran; all grade levels will have the opportunity to write a letter of thanks to veterans and Parkway Student Council members are creating and sending Care Boxes to active service members

Middle - Pine Tree Middle School will host a Veterans Day Parade on Friday, November 10 starting at 8:45 a.m. - All veterans are invited to attend.

Junior High -  Pine Tree Junior High will host a local veteran this week to speak to the writing students of PTJH. 

High School - Pine Tree High School will participate in the Share the Schools event on November 9.  Pine Tree High School Choir will present the National Anthem as well as several selections.  Commercial photo students will have on display framed photos from their recent field trip to the Rusk Airport.  Engineering students and will program and electronically wire a "talking diagram" the explains current military technology for drones, battleships and submarines.  PTHS will present a veterans day video highlighting veteran PTISD employees.  Culinary arts will participate by providing cookies as a gift to all attendees.

ExCEL High School of Choice - ExCEL will recognize Veterans Day through a series of lessons conducted by the social studies teacher through the history classes.

Pine Tree PTA Hosts Fall Carnival November 18

The Pine Tree PTA will host a Fall Carnival November 18 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the PT auxiliary football stadium located at 1701 Pine Tree Road.

This year's event will offer bounce houses, games, food, and vendor booths for shopping.

FOR ALL AGES - Coupons will be sold for some events.  Coupons are 25 cents each. 

Admission is FREE.
