Pine Tree ISD to Host Youth Violence Prevention Seminar April 7

Pine Tree ISD Student Services, Pine Tree PACE and the ExCel High School of Choice will host a tri-district, city-wide Youth Violence Prevention Seminar from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the PTISD Community Center. All three school districts in Longview are supporting this effort with participation by staff and students of Pine Tree ISD, Longview ISD, and Spring Hill ISD.

This 2nd annual anti-violence seminar will be the culmination of focused activities promoting awareness of youth violence prevention. During April 3-April 7, the students, staff, parent volunteers, local police departments, business owners, community agencies, and government officials are collaborating to promote awareness and educate communities on effective strategies to prevent or reduce youth violence.

The National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) is a founding partner of the National Youth Violence Prevention Week Campaign which was founded in 2001. The campaign is a week long event with each day of the week corresponding to a specific challenge presented by one of the founding partners and executed by communities around the country. The Pine Tree PACE Campus is a SAVE Chapter in Good Standing #2189.
