PTHS Cheer Squad Earns Bid to Compete at National Cheerleading Championship

The PTHS Cheerleaders attended NCA Cheer Camp at the Gaylord Texan on June 18-21st

The cheerleader squad received two Excellent and two Superior awards for performances at camp. The PTHS Cheerleading team earned a bid to compete for the National Cheerleading Association Championship in January. Twenty of the twenty-six PTHS cheerleaders were nominated for All-American NCA team in the categories of Leadership, Dance, Motions, Jumps, Stunts and Tumbling. 

Devin Jimerson, Te'ya Jordan, and Jade Peoples earned All-American awards. PTHS mascot, David Ritch, also earned an All-American award. 

Varsity captains Devin Jimerson & Te'ya Jordan received apps to apply for NCA Staff on the recommendation of the the NCA staff. 

Pine Tree Cheerleaders will start training in August to get ready for the upcoming year. The PTHS cheerleaders will attend the UIL Spirit State Championship and the NCA Championship in January 2017.
