PTISD Selected for 2015-2016 Bragging Rights Issue

AUSTIN, TEXAS (Dec. 1, 2015) — Twelve school districts are basking in the glow of positive press with the release of Texas School Business magazine’s Ninth Annual Bragging Rights 2015-2016 special issue. Bragging Rights, which calls for nominations and is published every December, recognizes school districts that have implemented programs that are bettering the lives of students, schools and communities.

The 12 honored districts and their brag-worthy programs include:
Alamo Heights ISD, Rocketry course
Alief ISD, Senior (Citizens) Prom
Calhoun County ISD, Writing Buddies program
Chapel Hill ISD, Phenomenal Phriday
College Station ISD, Project SEARCH
Denton ISD, G.O.A.L.
El Campo ISD, Family Literacy Academy
Hereford ISD, Student Leadership Committee
Huffman ISD, Calling All Fathers

Uvalde CISD, Shades of Blue jazz band

“We had close to 200 nominations this year, and all of them deserve bragging rights,” Texas School Business Editorial Director Katie Ford says. “We hope the 12 stories we singled out and chose to share will inspire other districts into action. Our mission at Texas School Business is to report on the good things happening in our public schools, and I can tell you with certainty that I’m never short on stories.”
