PINE TREE SHOWS WELL AT ART OF CHARACTER ART COMPETITION

Pine Tree High School brought home six awards at the 2015 Art of Character Art Competition while taking all three places in the Graphic Art division.  Sponsored by the City of Longview Adopt a School Partnership of Longview, this year's contest had 64 entries from Pine Tree, Longview and Spring Hill schools.

3rd - Max Kelt, Longview High School

Graphic Art
1st Place - Tylexxus Johnson, Pine Tree High School
2nd Place - Jasmine Martinez, Pine Tree High School
3rd Place - Marilynn Velvin, Pine Tree High School

Contest Sponsors are First Baptist Church Longview, Southside Bank, Spring Hill State Bank and Texas Bank and Trust.  Art Judges are Jim Tilley, Forbes & Butler; Paula Davis, Longview Museum of Fine Art; Janet Rowan, Spring Hill State Bank and Blessed Webb, Texas Bank and Trust.

School District Art Instructors are Ellen Herbert, Longview High School, Mary Squire and Elizabeth White, Pine Tree High School and Budd Dunn, Spring Hill High School.

All entries will be displayed at the Longview Public Library through December 4 with the winning entries displayed at the sponsor bank locations.  The Christmas Card entry will be at First Baptist Church, Longview.
