[LONGVIEW, Texas]—Texas Bank and Trust is pleased to announce the selection of 21 seniors from Pine Tree High School to serve on its 2015-2016 Student Board of Directors.  The TB&T Student Board is a prestigious program recognizing outstanding high school seniors in the community.

The PTHS seniors who qualified for this year’s Student Board will join with 38 other seniors from Trinity School of Texas, Longview, Spring Hill, and St. Mary’s High Schools to make up the 38th senior class to participate in the TB&T program.

The participating PTHS seniors include Nikki Acayan, Andrew Adamson, Taylor Assenheimer, Mikaela Bright, Barrett Burns, Fre’Dasia Daniels, Macy Davis, Gretchen English, Gabriela Herrera, Alyicia Humphrey, Clayton Kennedy, Lucas Kirchhoff, Dillon Lightfoot, Kyle McGough, Caroline Meek, Destiny Parrish, Will Pope, Arya Reddy, Brandon Truemner, Bianca Vancini, and Jasmine Vo.

As in years passed, the Student Board program will be designed to introduce students to banking and money management at a critical point in their lives, and provide them with the essential economic building blocks to earning, spending, saving, and investing money. The students will be challenged this year to test their innovation and creativity skills with a new program to assist the bank in developing a digital marketing campaign to promote TB&T’s state-of-the-art e-banking services.

Texas Bank and Trust established the Student Board - its first and most enduring financial literacy program - in 1978.

Students were selected based on their grade point average, extra-curricular activities, and afterschool work activities. Students must submit an essay with their application as well as two letters of recommendation from either a faculty member or administrator to be considered for the program. Students accepted into the 2015 Student Board program were notified in late May.

Since its inception, the Student Board has introduced more than 1,900 area high school seniors to banking and money management.
