LONGVIEW AND PINE TREE TEAM UP TO ASSIST VAN RELIEF EFFORT

The school districts of Longview and Pine Tree are teaming to help the displaced teachers of Van ISD.

Earlier this month a tornado ravaged much of the town of Van and caused substantial damage to J.E. Rhodes Elementary School.  While insurance coverage will replace some of the losses, the teachers will have to start over in recreating the classrooms that they worked years to conceive.  Teachers typically spend hundreds of their own dollars, or more, each school year to create a comfortable learning atmosphere.  They also regularly buy school supplies to keep on hand for students whose families can’t afford them.

We want to help Van’s teachers and we need your help to do that.

Donations may be dropped off at the following locations on Monday, June 1 only:
Longview Police Department, 302 W Cotton Street
AAA Discount Storage, 5446 Gilmer Road

or Pine Tree ISD staff/parents may bring donations to school campuses,  Campus donations will be collected through June 2.
