PTMS STUDENTS TAKE TOP HONORS AT REGION VII INNOVATIVE INVENTIONS

Pine Tree Middle School students participated in Innovative Inventions at Region VII on April 6th. Twenty-five students participated in this event competing against schools across the entire region.

PTMS took top honors as Overall Winners again this year.

The following students placed in individual categories:

Ethan Sanders and Gabby Pumphrey received Overall Division 2 Award for their invention called "Safe Rider."  Ethan and Gabby received first place also for "Potential Benefit to Society,"  "Peer Choice Award," "Judge's Choice Award," and third place for "Notebook and Evidence of Research."

Zoe Green and Paige Reese took first place in "Innovative Design" and second place in "Peer Choice Award" for their invention of "Here-You-Go Mailbox."

Holly James, Rory Curtis, and Jayla McCarty  received first place in "Prototype Performance" for their project "Ice Wrap."

Torrell Collins and Vincent Rodriguez were awarded third place for "Effective Display" of their invention "Busic Box."

Ali Vineyard, Yasmin Perez, and Aby Herrada received first place honors for their invention "Clean Eraser" in the category of "Notebook and Evidence of Research."

Wade Fell and Maddox Duke received third place at Innovative Inventions in the following two categories: Prototype Performance and Peer Choice.

All of these inventions placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd in a field of over 75 inventions from across the region, with Ethan Sanders and Gabby Pumphrey's invention taking the overall top award out of all participants.
