Pine Tree High School Wins 1st Place in Texas Teen Safe Driving Coalition Poster Contest

Daylon Williams, junior at Pine Tree High School, won first place in the Texas Teen Safe Driving Coalition contest for creating a driving safety poster.

Daylon used both his art and computer skills to create his winning entry. Daylon's poster will be used for marketing purposes to help reduce the amount of teen deaths due to texting and driving in Texas.

First prize is a $500 grant to Pine Tree High art class. Daylon's art teacher is Elizabeth White.

The Texas Teen Sage Driving Coalition's goal is to reduce teen driving deaths. Nothing kills more teens (16-20 years of age) in Texas than car crashes and no other group on the road has a higher crash risk. The Texas Teen Safe Driving Coalition, in partnership with The Allstate Foundation and the National Safety Council, is working to help teens build skill and minimize risk through the proven principles of Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL).

The Texas Coalition is one of 10 state coalitions, including California, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, focused on reducing teen driving deaths.
